At SpendWise, we value your privacy. This policy explains how your data is collected, used, and protected while using the SpendWise mobile application.

1. Data Collected and Purpose of Use

• Financial Data: Expense and debt records you enter into the app are stored entirely on your device (locally). These records are never transmitted to our servers.
• Camera Access: Required for scanning receipts to detect amounts (OCR feature). Captured images are processed instantly and not stored.
• Biometric Data: Fingerprint or face recognition may be used for the in-app lock feature. SpendWise does not access your actual biometric data; verification is securely handled by the Android operating system.

2. Third-Party Services

Google Play Services and Google AdMob are used to display ads and provide app infrastructure. AdMob may use your Advertising ID to deliver personalized ads. Google ML Kit is used for on-device text recognition.

3. Data Security

Your data is stored in a secure local database on your device. Users are responsible for backing up their own data.

4. Children’s Privacy

SpendWise does not knowingly collect data from children under the age of 13.

5. Permissions

We request: CAMERA (receipt scanning), POST_NOTIFICATIONS (budget alerts), and USE_BIOMETRIC (app lock).
